About Outschool

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need a teaching degree?
No. You do not need a formal teaching credential, but you must have expertise or passion in the subject you teach and pass a background check.
2. How much can I earn?
You set the price per student. If you charge $15 per student and have 10 students in a 1-hour class, you earn $150 minus fees. Outschool says average teachers earn $35/hour.
3. What is the fee?
Outschool takes a 30% service fee from enrollments. This covers the platform, marketing, and Zoom costs. You keep 70%.
4. Who creates the curriculum?
You do. You have total creative freedom to design the class content, duration, and format (one-time, weekly, or camp style).
5. How do I get paid?
Outschool pays via PayPal. Payments are sent roughly a week after the class starts.
